| This is a scene looking north from the north coast of Moidart, on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. I love the delicate colours of an April evening, reflected in the calm sea. This is one of the paintings where I start with a thick layer of white paint over the whole canvas, and then work in the various colours while the white is still wet, to allow me to blend them and give a more muted effect. | |
